Flying Experience
Get up close to our Owls, Hawks and Eagles on our flying experience. You will fly a selection of Owls, Hawks, and an Eagle in the flying area, either flying the bird to a perch, or having it land on your glove. Experience the gentle nature of the Owls, the speed of a hawk, and the weight and power of an Eagle. You will learn about each species, diet, habitat, and how they have evolved for survival.

Hawk walk
Enjoy the thrill of watching the hawk follow you from tree to tree then swoop down to your glove for a reward. See how the hawk folds it’s wings to gain speed, then spread the wings and tail to brake for landing. Learn how these predators survive in the wild, hone their hunting skills, and live on the edge of survival.

meet the owls
Come and spend time with our Owls. Learn about habitat and the natural threats faced by them every day. Hear how their magnificent eyesight and hearing enable them to hunt when other birds cannot. Put on a glove and meet a selection of our Owls then have a few of them fly to your glove.”

Meet the Birds
Enjoy meeting a selection of our birds, from Kestrels, Owls, Hawks and Eagles. Learn about their unique features and survival skills. Put on a glove and experience having these impressive raptors at arm’s length. Then have a selection of them fly to your glove, and meet one of our Golden Eagles face to face.

Hunting Day
Enjoy an action-packed day where you will take part in the ancient art of falconry, “hunting quarry in it’s natural state using a trained bird of prey”. Help to work the ferrets, flushing rabbits for the hawks to chase. Carry the hawk waiting for the quarry to bolt, then release the hawk and watch the amazing flights as it pursues it’s target.
Total experience duration, all day, 08:00 – 17:30, travel approx. 1 hour each way. Includes cooked breakfast, tea/coffee at the end of the day. Please bring snack/drinks if required for during the day.
Please note: this experience requires participants to climb over rough terrain, fences, ditches etc. Participants must be physically fit as the terrain can be quite steep.

Centre Experience Day
Be a bird keeper for a day. Take part in the daily routine of tending to the birds, becoming a member of the team. Help with cleaning, maintenance, handling, flying, and the general welfare of our residents. Learn the falconers’ knot and how to handle birds correctly. Take part in training the birds, or participate in the flying shows. See how we look after the health and welfare of our falcons, hawks, eagles, and owls. Handle a selection of our residents, including one of our golden eagles.

Owl Encounter
Hawk & Owl encounters are group activities and are only available on specific days of the week at specified times. The expected duration of the group encounter is between 30 & 40 minutes. The cost of an encounter is in addition to the entrance fee and is limited to those aged 12 and over. The group size is limited to 6-8 people, and each session will be provided on a first-come-first-served basis.
Owl Encounters - Friday 10:30am - Sunday 2:30pm
Encounters must be booked at least 24 hours in advance.
To redeem a voucher, or to make a booking for a specific time slot, you must contact us to check availability. Bookings will only be accepted upon receipt of payment via the on-line shop page.
Providing spaces are available, encounter tickets may be available to purchase on the day.
